Medi claims deliberately delayed and denied by Star health & Alliance Insurance Co Ltd.
We have received a complaint from Mr. Padam Sharma, who is a policy holder in the above captioned company vide Policy No. P/161111/02/2018/015032 Id. No. 8440603-1, was admitted to Venkateshwara Hospital, Sector 18-A, Dwarka, New Delhi-110075 on 26/12/2018 for Adenocarcinoma Lower Ractam with Dysplastic Colon and was thereafter diagnosed by Fortis Aaslok Hospital on 12/12/2018 through colonoscopy done by Dr. Ashwani Chopra on 08/12/2018. Further confirmed by Pet scan done by difi on 19/12/2018.
The said consumer applied for cash less medi-claim benefits vide claim no. 0555689 which was denied 09/02/2018 after submitting all prescriptions and documents in original but still even after a month the claim is still under process. The consumer again submitted copies of all documents to the company .
The consumer again applied for cash less medicliam and the said met the same fate. claim filed by consumer / claimant on 08/02/2019 vide claim No.0643575 for radiotherapy was against denied.
Now a question which arise is why these insurance companies say that this policy is cash less if they have to deny it for baseless reasons. Is it not harassment and mental/ physical torture to the consumers?
Why does not the IRDA initiate legal action against companies like Star Health & Alliance Insurance Co Ltd. by cancelling their licensees?
