A RTI request was made by an Adv. Mr. Chandidas Bhattacharya, to the SPIO, Agartala Municipal Corporation, on 21.01.2019, to access some crucial information/documents. The SPIO, could not turn up within the stipulated period of time & the documents were not supplied.
Then First Appeal was preferred before the FAA, Agartala Municipal Corporation. The date of hearing on the appeal was fixed on 10.04.2019 & accordingly summon was served upon the appellant. On behalf of the appellant, Sri Rana Pratap Nath Bhaumik, RTI Activist, was present before the FAA, the appeal was disposed of with a direction to the SPIO, to supply the information with in 10 days.
During the time of hearing it was exposed that the RTI reuest dated 21 01 2019 was misplaced/subotaged by the Deleaning Assistant, as a result the SPIO, could not supply the information as sought for.
The FAA (Dr. Sailesh K Yadav, IAS) expressed his grievences about the issue & accordinly, the Dealing Assistant, namely Ismail Miah, MPA, was put under suspension, vide order No. F.VII-18/AMC/GS/2013/11119-23 dated 12 04 2018, for negligency & deriliction of duty. Both the orders has been uploded for public interest.
