Fight against Healthcare Corruption

where one of our twin daughters will bid adieu to us and will never come back .
Yesterday ,we came across an article in the news paper where it was written that ,Dengue is causing neurological complications which is rarely seen in dengue cases and two deaths were reported where patients suffering from dengue lived their last . While I was glancing through the article ,the entire situation rolled back in my memory, where our beloved seven year old daughter ,who suffered from dengue waved her hand for a Good Bye to never meet us again .Sadly, it never appeared in any column of the newspaper as a sign of alarm to remain protected from this deadly disorder. On having lost , our beloved daughter ,we were not in our wits to question the authorities regarding their carelessness or to put it finely ,the respective Healthcare system acted smart with us to veil all the facts and figures.Monetarily as well as humanely, we were butchered by the hospital administration.
Firstly .when she was admitted to #RocklandHospital in Dwarka ; they took the case very lightly like normal dengue patient is treated and after two days of her admission into the hospital, they themselves suggested to shift her to the best ( Pediatric ICU) in the Delhi NCR that is of Fortis Medical Research Institute ( FMRI) Gurgaon. The day when we had to shift her to the hospital suggested by them ,the Rockland hospital did not arrange an ambulance with the lame excuse that we don’t provide an ambulance for the patients who are referred for other hospitals. While almost five ambulances were queued up straight to bring the patients to the hospital but none were available for the discharged paitients. We had to arrange our own ambulance to take her to Fortis Medical Research Institute ( FMRI) Gurgaon ,even in that emergency situation.
The day we admitted her to the Rockland Hospital and post that to a very famous hospital in the Delhi -NCR i.e. Fortis Medical Research Institute ( FMRI) Gurgaon ,we were like too satisfied that okay, now ,she is getting the best possible treatment in the so called five star corporate hospital (rather slaughter house), facilitated with full fledged PICU ( Pediatric ICU). Everyday the entire family and friends used to stand ,side by side to us just to hear that your daughter is improving and will recover soon which never happened. But after a whooping fifteen days of hell like situation, where round the clock our lips were chanting unending prayers , doctors hinted to us with an MRI analysis that child’s brain has got hugely damaged where from the recovery is not possible. We were made to sit in a ride of yes or no , to choose whether we want to continue the medical treatment in the hospital (where money is gently looted in proportion to the seconds ,the patient has been admitted for. Thus, Lacs multiplied with lacs were contained in the invoice) or to opt for LAMA i.e. leaving against medical advice . Secretly , we were advised to let her rest in peace and take her home where we were said they will not remove the ventilator inside the hospital premises.Minds were numb and breathing power got choked ,with this advise. However,we opted to take her with us, to the home, the very last time.We were not able to understand the conspiracy behind such an advise then , but now when this amount of time has passed thinking about the loss of Adya ,we have understood that if they would have removed Adya from ventilator it would then have been compulsory for them to report the death due to dengue in their hospital premises.
While we were going through all such situations, two more things that the hospital advised us was to arrange our own ambulance and to pay for the cloth she was wearing during the treatment . We have been made to pay even for the last cloth which our daughter was wearing. The last nail was when the ambulance attendant asked for the sheet in which Adya was wrapped as it had a GPS chip for hospital records. We had to pay for that sheet as well. Sensitivity of the best hospital in the Delhi NCR , Fortis Medical Research Institute ( FMRI) Gurgaon , the very reputed has ignited with the corrupt world we are living in.
It was not less than a shock to us that the hospital refused us to provide an ambulance to take our dear daughter’s body back to home . It was on us, to run for all possibilities ,to get an ambulance arranged. This is our system where we had already made payment of eighteen lacs INR to the hospital for falsely pumping her heart and inflating the lungs through machine support for a total of fifteen days , and later we were asked to arrange an ambulance to take our patient back to the home in deadly state as if their quota of earning has been acquired. WOW….
Pain and pinching still continued,it never ended. Though we were suffering from the pain of losing our daughter we had to visit various hospitals to prove that she is no more and that we need a certificate for that. The insensitivity of our system has sucked our blood to all the possible limits.
And now after a month of her departure to the heaven , my angel ,for whom we need to have a DC ( Death Certificate ) issued ,from the so called authorities, they are asking for ample number of documents and if you cross question them , they will give you a lame comment ‘ Agar itne document nahin la sakte toh zaroort kya hai Death certificate banwane ki’. I mean seriously you are asking a father who has already beared the brunt of the entire situation and system and now he has to listen to all such lame excuses as well. Hats off to the system. Which parent will be happy and ready for getting a DC issued for his own child ??? But , in this documented world ,paper works for more rather than the intensity of pain.Parents needed the DC to prove in the official papers ,the dead daughter was associated to.
Till now we have not been able to understand whose fault was this that we have lost our beloved daughter. Should we blame the system that despite the peak season no seriousness was shown to control the breeding of mosquitoes or the hospitals who charged heavy amount of money just to fulfill there targets or to the DC issuing authority where they behaved this insensitively. The system which is so pertinent in so called , the mother of the nation- India ,that it heavily crush the spine of parent so much so that ,they will never be able to cope up with such demises .
Rightly said, “Corpse only knows the pain of living in the grave”, where, I used to read all these cases in in newspaper or through social media especially but when our family has got such an irreparable loss it feels very painful to see our system this way ,where we daily hear ki system badal raha hai …desh badal raha hai…and yes we are nearing to our end, the world forgets.
Rest in peace darling Adya…..Anya; Mom; Dad; Nanu; Nani; Dada; Dadi ; Bua ; Fuffaji; Mausaji ; Mausi and all others miss you terribly.

The whole system is rooted in corruption .many doctors today have sold their souls..sad but medicine a basic right guaranteed under the constitution is now business..Rot in Hell all you staff of Fortis hospital who were responsible for this..

No one except the family suffers. For hospitals and for doctors our very loved ones are nothing but bodies from whom they can earn their so called fortune till their last breath. Nothing in this ctry can change. Its just that God has to be kind on us. I had a similar experience when the hospital people charged for wrapping the body. I can understand your pain and your gussa against the system. May Adyas soul rest in peace and you all be able to bear the loss. As we have no other choice

How can the healthcare system be so insensitive!!Patient care has gone out the window and its all about the money. Absolutely disgusting!!.. My condolences for your loss

Sweytank Srivastava RIP Anya, you had such an ill fate because of those curropt motherfuckers. I hope you and your family may get justice and those assholes punished.

Mary Ellen Taylor So sorry for your suffering. Holy Family hospital in Mumbai charged me for the use of ventilator, files, folders, paper clips and the sheet in which to wrap my dear mother's body. When I went to pay they said I also should give blood as a lot of plasma was used up by my mother. Shame on these bloodsucking vampires and all the other insensitive public servants that make it so difficult to process simple forms like a death certificate.

Kishor Ruparelia We of Indian descent, living in other countries, very often hear of most unpalatable experiences from those who went to India for medical treatment. Indian doctors and hospitals are infamous for unnecessary check-ups, tests, scans, further referrals and medication - purely to extort maximum money. Patients returning to UK after treatment in India find that doctors and hospitals here in UK do not, for very valid reasons, accept to continue the treatment that was initiated or recommended by Indian hospitals/doctors. Knowing about these practices in India, I struggle to imagine how dreadful it would be for patients in India and their families to seek medical treatment

Neetu Jha I am so ashamed to be living in a society where a 7 year old is brutally murdered for some wands of cash, Yes I call it a murder....Pathetic #FORTIS have some shame and show some dignity to your fellow humans...We are HUMANS and not some animals which are used for slaughtering...PLS UNDERSTAND, dont stoop to this level !!! Love baby Adya, stay in peace wherever you are, May God be with u

Satya Tripathi Realy very sad moment...hospitals are not hospitals. This is big shops and malls where i give money and take med or advise. They dont care about our feelings and compulsion. So apni safety apne hath kuki ye sale kisi ki majbori nahi smjhte jab inke famly me kisi ko deangue hoga tab pata chalega

Hussain Bin Alavi My deepest sympathy to and your family. These hospitals are highway robbers. Seen in many Bollywood movies

Sis Bow Sisbow may God Adya's soul in heaven! this is true! The doctors , Hospital finance heads and agents have no clue about humanity. "Burning the candle at both ends" robbing patient's money and their lives. INDIAN GOVERNMENT SHOULD DO SOMETHING ABOUT SUCH unfair and inhuman monkey business practices in Indian Hospitals. Patients from different part of the world specially from Africa suffer from the same cause. THIS HAS TO STOP!!! LET HUMANITY PREVAIL AND RULE!!! "Money talks but fades away but human lives are way more precious than a gamble! LORD HAVE MERCY ON YOUR SOULS!

Puneet Kumar Goyal RIP Adya!!

Never Ever ever go to Fortis..Normal Disease can die over there.Patient Care is so phethtic. They are robbing the patient like anything.I have been in NCR last 15 Yrs and never go to Fortis For any Admission.Last Month I have to admitted my
father in Fortis Noida due to severe abdominal pain and he was having NG tube in his Nose and doctor advised no Intake for initial days . When i saw the bill . I was charged for the diet. When I tried to Enquiry they don’t have any satisfactory answer .After 2-3 hrs of argument with Billing department I have to pay all bills. When I tweeted to all Concerned Authority they called me and settled the unjustified charges.

I have to be with my father with all the time because I have to take care everything due to carelessness of the nursing staff and doctors

Sri Harsha Such a Shame !! Dengue is being treated properly in small hospitals also. Why cant such a big hospital treat?? Doctors/Hospitals are concerned about the money but not patients life. If the same situation comes to them then they will understand the pain. RIP Adya
Praveen George In Kerala I have experienced doctors prescribing all possible tests to increase their income. On the opposite, I also have had very positive experience with hospitals such as KMC in Mangalore. Where they charge only for what is really required to treat a specific condition

Ashil Kumar Singhal It is very very sad....
I feel furious reading about such incidents, at the same time helpless. I sincerely wish there was something I could do to contribute to make sure that greed is eliminated from this noble service.

Teacher and Doctor are two professions who we treat as God. They have huge impact on our lives through what every interaction we have with them. I think it is very important that our next generation of teachers and doctors are first thought about how important their role will be in the society and then the subject to become what they become.

No Law can 100% prevent Crime caused out of Greed. Only ethics, compassion and self conscious can make the society bette
